The great thing about virtual wholesaling: You don’t need a business card, or anything to get started, just the drive to make a deal. -Greg Helbeck

Greg Helbeck is the co-owner of Velocity House Buyers and Host of Pave the Way Podcast. He started his real estate journey after his dream of being a professional hockey player didn’t work out. Facing his new reality, Greg looked deep inside himself and discovered the power of books and personal development to improve his situation. Within 3 years, Greg went from broke living in his parent’s basement to becoming a successful real estate investor who operates a 100% virtual wholesaling business. Greg has ambitions to get involved in commercial real estate investing and becoming a beacon of positivity for people his age to inspire them to go out and achieve the success they want.

Greg might be just one year out of college, but what he has done since that time is phenomenal. On today’s show, Greg tells his story of losing one dream but creating another within real estate investing. Greg shares what mistakes to avoid when starting in virtual wholesaling, and tells a great story of what not to do with direct mail lead generation. INVESTTHIS EP 69: From Comedian to The Godfather of Wholesaling

Jamil Damji, also known to some as the Godfather of Wholesaling broke into real estate shortly after moving from Los Angeles where he was a comedian. In 2009 he lost everything, as many did, but instead of focusing on the negative, he bonded with family and made the best of what he had left. He flirted with real estate once again and was fortunate to meet a mentor who would change his trajectory forever. He shares this incredible story in this episode, and inspiring doesn’t even come close to explaining it.

Fast forward to today, and Jamil, Founder of Key Glee and his team are executing 80-85 wholesale deals a month! He has 30+ employees, is in 7 markets and is aggressively expanding into more markets this year, which he details in this episode.

Jamil and I have known each other for a few years now, and because of this friendship, he discusses aspects of his business and personal life that he doesn’t usually divulge. Jamil goes into detail on how he persevered from losing everything to building his business, and how a positive attitude helped him achieve his goals. He also discusses the systems he used to automate his company, which resulted in explosive growth. Because Jamil and I both know the benefits of meditation, we talk about how it has made a positive impact in our lives and your businesses.

INVESTTHIS EP 68: How to Build a Real Estate Brokerage Business

“Agents tend to have many options available when it comes to choosing a real estate brokerage that is a fit for them, so it is important to invest in and grow the culture at your brokerage in addition to offering support and education.” –Forbes Real Estate Council

Today’s guest, Steve Trang, started out as an Electrical Engineer, for Intel designing cell phone hardware. He dabbled in real estate buying rental properties then acquired a mentor to teach him the wholesale business. Fast forward to today, Steve is the founder of Stunning Homes Realty. Steve started the real estate brokerage because he wanted to provide consistent, high-quality service to all of its clients. Most brokerages are agent-centric, and their goal is only to hire as many agents as possible. By hiring only the highest quality agents and staff, Steve’s company can focus only the clients’ needs and concerns. Steve is also the host of the Real Estate Disrupters podcast, creator of #100Millionaires movement and designer of OfferFast an app for off-market real estate properties where buyers and sellers can quickly list, manage and communicate directly with each other.

On today’s episode, Steve discusses how he transitioned into real estate, building his brokerage with over 100 agents, and how he empowers his team to exceed expectations. Because Steve is a serial entrepreneur, with so many different businesses, he explains how he juggles everything by learning and implementing new systems. We also discuss his podcast, which he records live, and he reveals why he chose this method. Both Steve and I are avid readers, and we compared notes on the brilliant books that have made an impact on our lives and businesses.

INVESTTHIS EP 67: Find More Sellers with Real Estate Skip Tracing

Real estate skip tracing services can help dig up owner contact information. –Forbes Real Estate Council

Ivo Draginov and Jesse Burrell had a conversation a few years ago about the power of data. That conversation led them to found Batch Skip Tracing, a company that is an analytical solution for finding sellers. They pull data from billions of records from credit headers, public and private records, and niche and unique databases. They continue to prove that better data equals better results. And if you’re like me, you always want better results!

In addition to their skip tracing business, both are real estate investors who started out in fix and flip properties and have ventured into wholesaling. They are currently systemizing their wholesale business in order to have more time for software development for their skip tracing company.

On today’s episode, Ivo and Jesse get into the nitty-gritty of how skip tracing can help you find more sellers, as well as what a truly clean list should look like. They discuss the differences between high hit rates and match rates, and which one is much more valuable and why. Additionally, they detail who can benefit using skip tracing services and how to uncover your strongest lists for your business.

INVESTTHIS EP 66: Serial Entrepreneur Greg Dickerson

Greg Dickerson is a serial entrepreneur, real estate developer, a leader in his community, the coach of coaches, and mentor to some of the top real estate investors, syndicators, and developers in the industry today. Over the past 20 years, he has bought, developed and sold over $200 million in real estate. He built and renovated hundreds of custom homes and commercial buildings and started 12 different companies from the ground up.

Greg’s ‘bird’s eye view’ approach to business has enabled him to speak with great authority on many different facets of investing. And, considering he is entirely self-taught, this is a testament to self-education. So, if you think you don’t have the education to become a multi-millionaire, think again; anything is possible!

On today’s show, Greg talks about how he has structured his businesses for maximum profits and minimum stress. In addition, he provides an inside look into the markets of North Carolina, South Carolina, Northern Virginia, Georgia, and Alabama. We had a great discussion on his views of the best real estate asset classes, which includes the safest ones to invest in. One of my favorite parts of our talk is his tried and true method on how to scale any business.
